Hotel Review: Poipu Kapili

When booking a trip, one of the most critical decisions is where to stay.  You want to be close enough to key areas for site seeing, have nice accommodations, but not break the bank.  For our trip to Kauai in August, we opted to stay at Poipu Kapili condos.  We had already decided that we wanted to stay in the Poipu area of south Kauai.  I wanted to have a view of the ocean and be walkable to restaurants for dinner.  Poipu Kapili fit the bill and I was very happy with our stay.

We booked condo 30, a 1 bed, 2 bath condo for 6 nights in late August for $275/night.  I picked this specific condo after viewing the options on their website.  It was in the middle of the horseshoe of rooms and had a great view.

As with most hawaiian rentals, it did not have central air, but there was a unit in the corner that kept the bedroom comfortable at night and a fan to keep the air moving.  The view from the bedroom was out on the parking lot, so we ended up just keeping the window coverings closed most of the trip.

Whenever possible, I love staying at condos or houses on trips a week or longer. That way you get the comforts of home, like having a kitchen to make meals or snacks.  This kitchen was equipped with all the basics needed to be able to cook, although we ended up eating out most nights.

The condo had a nice open floor plan from the kitchen, through the living room out onto the lanai.

The lanai…where we spent our time in the condo watching sunsets and eating breakfast in the fresh hawaiian air.

And of course, the view from the pool looking back up at our room.  Overall a great location, beautiful property and friendly staff.  Would recommend to anyone looking for a condo to stay at in Poipu, Kauai.

One Comment:

  1. I am looking at booking unit 27 at Poipu Kapili and have a lot of complaints regarding construction noise. I am curious if anyone has stayed in the back part of the resort and can comment on the construction noise. I am thinking at this point Whalers Cove may be a better option.
